"Cruel wall - why do you keep two lovers apart?"

Just outside our kitchen, where we have our outside table and chairs, I thought it would be good to have a low wall - to contain the area (and to rest a glass of wine on!)  Mr VTT (not renowned for his building skills; he's a writer) built a wall yesterday -

and I road-tested it tonight! -


Seems to do the job!

Quite a bit of colour showing in the garden now -

Went out plate-hunting (ooo-aar, an old custom round these 'ere parts...) at the weekend, as I needed to put some more cake-stands together -


Found some sweet cups too -


and a pretty chintzy plate -

Looking forward to Thursday, when we go away for a week (Lanzarote) - although will miss baby Ruby -

and her brothers and cousins. Ruby's 5 year old brother  (grandson-who-trampolines - 9.03.11 post)  is also now grandson-who-rides-bike-without-stabilisers - yay!

So, have a good week!   'See you' when we get back.

    Great wall!.. would you hire Mr VTT out?!
    You have much more colour in your garden than I do, but I suppose we are far North so things take longer here to get going. Lovely china and if I may say so a very cute Ruby.. oooh I could give her a squidge. Well done to trampoline grandson, what a star! Have a wonderful holiday and blog us all a postcard :) Abby x

    Lovely wall - you need to test it with the glass (or two) of wine to really make sure its up to standard *wink*. Lovely finds too - and I'm in awe over all the beautiful cake stands :o) Scarlett x

    Where do you get the standy bits from for your cake stands? Whenever I've looked online they've always been really expensive! x

    Perfect garden wall - looks pretty with the tea lights and plants, what a lovely area it must be for warm evenings!
    You have some beautiful plants and flowers in your garden at the moment.
    The china is so pretty, especially love that second tea cup and saucer in the pale gold.
    Ruby is beautiful, and what a clever brother she has!

    I love how you use candles to give light outside. I find that way more pretty in it's own way. Go Ruby riding a bike without training wheels.
