Blues and bluebells......

Every so often - usually apropos of nothing - I get the blues. I woke up really early this morning and knew it was going to be one of those days :(       I'm doing Ludlow market on Sunday and I've got lots of china packed ready - but I thought I'd busy myself today, to try and lift my mood - so I decided to see what Spring gardening 'stuff' I might have, to put on the stall.  Found a few things - like this basket and these old pots -

and this wrought iron stand - I think it's for tea-lights, but you could put small pots in it too? - probably to put in a hearth really? -

A wooden tool carrier, and a metal wall candle holder -

Metal pot holders and violas in cups -

A little decorative bird house, some wall baskets, some trugs - and a little wheelbarrow I 'shabby-chic-ed'! -

A tin jug, and a decorative tin pot -

So, I think the stall could have a bit of a garden theme?

*************************
The frogs have been making quite a racket in our little garden pond, but no frogspawn yet -

Saw some bluebells yesterday, as I walked back from town - bit early for them? - my MIL says they're the 'horrid' Spanish ones that are taking over our native ones? -

Well, I must away to town now - meeting daughter-who's-getting married-soon - for a dress fitting.  I'm sure cappuchino and a cake in town will help my blues!

  1. What a lot of lovely things for your stall! I'm sure it will be a success. And hope the cake, coffee and company banish the blues!

  2. What lovely things Abby I could spend a fortune, pity that we don't live nearer.

I get the blues sometimes too. I am sure the weather effects me, a few days of sunshine lift my spirits no end.

Try relaxing a bit if you can, I know with a daughter getting married it is probably a very busy time, be kind to yourself!

  3. Some very pretty things there.
My day began in the opposite way to yours, wonder if it will end up equally the opposite. I was feeling fine, which is always cause for celebration, and went shopping. Reaching into the back of the car, through a wide open door I hasten to add, nothing awkward, my back went - as it frequently does. So started positive, ending negative. Hope your start negative, ends positive!

  4. I'm so sorry your feeling down, I had a day like that yesterday...I wanted to give everything up, nothing was right (I'm sure my problem is hormonal!!) You will do really well on Sunday at Ludlow with those lovely treasures..perfect for a bit of pottering in the garden on a Spring day. Hope your feeling better soon. Have a super weekend.

  5. I think it's the weather Abby. I too could feel the blues early this morning. I try to channel the blues into being creative by burying myself in my quilting, listening to music or walking the dog. Lets hope for some sunshine, I'm convinced it makes a difference.

Your gardening things look great, love the little wheelbarrow. Hope you have a successful day on Sunday.

Sending you lots of positive, sunny and warm thoughts.

  8. I woke up at six o'clock this morning feeling low and yet it has been a lovely day - bright and sunny. There is nothing like coffee and cake to lift the spirits. We have loads of noisy frogs, less the 8 now taken by the magpie, but no frog spawn as yet. The spanish bluebells stand upright with petals all round the stem, the native ones flower at just one side and dangle their heads to one side. You have some lovely things to sell at Ludlow, hope all goes well tomorrow:)

  13. You have a wonderful selection of garden items that are sure to sell. The violas in pretty cups would look lovely on a sunny window ledge... shame it won't be mine, I would have bought them all!
I hope meeting your daughter and chatting over coffee and cake lifted your spirits. Enjoy your weekend and I hope Sunday goes well for you. Abby x

  14. Hope that after finding all those lovely garden themed things for your stall (what a haul from your home!), and meeting your daughter in town, everything turned out positive and happy for you.
Strange how we feel like that from time to time when we can see no reason for it - thats life (and hormones maybe!) I guess.
Hope you have a great weekend and a fun and successful Sunday

  27. Dearest Abby,

Sorry to hear you were feeling a bit low, and I hope you are feeling better now. It sounded like you had the perfect recipe lined up: coffee and cake... and meeting your daughter for such lovely adventures!

As for me, just seeing your goodies ready for the fair, brightened my day, even if there is a tiny cloud whispering 'nananinana, you can't go to that fair and buy any of them' to me... :-)

I am sure you will do very well with these beauties, particularly with a theme that speaks to people at the moment (judging by the number of people at the garden centre today, it will speak in a LOUD voice...!)

    Love from Helena
