Cacti and octopuses...............

Back now from our week away - it was great to have a break, but doubt we'll ever return to Lanzarote.  Good and relaxing though - read 5 books!!  'The Room' was interesting - anyone read it?  Some lovely flowers -

 The 'lunar' landscape (volcanic) is certainly strange -



 and there are many acres of horseshoe shaped little walls to protect the plants, such as vines (they have less rainfall than the Sahara apparently) -

Not many animals - a few camels, and goats -

and donkeys -

and geckos! -
