Back now from our week away - it was great to have a break, but doubt we'll ever return to Lanzarote. Good and relaxing though - read 5 books!! 'The Room' was interesting - anyone read it? Some lovely flowers -
Boy cleaning octopus - or squid -
The 'lunar' landscape (volcanic) is certainly strange -
and there are many acres of horseshoe shaped little walls to protect the plants, such as vines (they have less rainfall than the Sahara apparently) -Not many animals - a few camels, and goats -
and geckos! -

ReplyDeleteLovely photos. Looks like you had a lovely time.
ReplyDelete"The Room" is that the one about the mum and her son that's locked in a room? I want to read it but I'm afraid I'll get too emotional reading it. Was it as sad as I think it will be?
Dont' know "The Room", will look it up. Lovely holiday pics; especially like the ones of the dancers.
ReplyDeleteHope the wedding goes well and you have glorious weather like we're having today!
Oh that was a refreshing get-away this rainy Friday morning via your photos. Pretty hibiscus flowers, but no octopus for me thank you. Best wedding wishes!

You are so smart to rest before the big week, lovely photos...and it looked so warm!
ReplyDeleteI have just read The Room and I enjoyed it in a strange way. It really made me think about all the 'things' we take for granted. Glad you had a great time hope all is going well with the wedding preparation.

Nice to see you, to see you nice! Hope everything goes to plan this week. xxx
ReplyDeleteNice to see your pics of Lanzarote. I thought it was a most interesting island. Loved all the Manriqe sculptures and the volcanic scenery was most interesting. We went for a proper holidaymaker trip on a camel and a visit to the volcanoes with some barbecued food straight from the heat of the volcanoe. A bit frightening that it is still active. Ann x
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great time! Hope all goes well for the wedding:)
ReplyDeleteGreat photos. Thinking of you at your daughter's wedding today, what glorious weather you have had. Tried 'The Room' but gave up on it.

I really enjoyed the Room, and found it haunting. Months later I still think about Jack.
ReplyDeleteGreat photographs, especially the cactuses and the donkeys.

Hope the wedding is magical. Loved seeing the flowers - so exotic. The landscape does look a bit bleek but the plants are amazing.
ReplyDeleteJust about to start the Room - feeling quite trepidatious about it though..
ReplyDeleteGood photos of the holiday, good luck with the upcoming wedding of your daughter, will we get photos?
