Playing at shops...........

I picked up an old dresser cheaply last week (it needs stripping and repainting - that's what I should have been doing today, instead of playing ;) ) which I shall put in the shop to display china on -

I don't really like the dresser, but it will be useful in the shop -

Got some pretty sets of china today -

I got a couple of side tables too, to display stuff on. Quite pleased with these now they're cleaned up and painted - they were in quite a state -

Painted - and distressed - these little shelves too -

And finished painting the sewing box. Wondered about lining it with this wrapping paper? -

Pretty, isn't it? -

Got a cute shaped mirror too -

Lovely tulips -

- and some tiny irises coming out in pots in the garden -

Mr VTT has just brought me a glass of wine and a bowl of olives, so that seems a good point at which to slope off! Enjoy the rest of the week!

  1. Good old Mr VTT. Mr J and P has gone to Sainsburys to do the weekly shop which I'm very happy about. Look forward to seeing how your space at the vintage shop looks.

  10. Hi love your finds and hope you have great fun 'playing shop'. Have you tried Annie Sloan paint - its fab. I haven;t had time to post about my cabinet makeover yet but I have used the paint and am v pleased. No stripping, no sanding, no nothing just paint. Yeah!! She has a website if you want to check it out. Look out for my before and after post its coming soon - the new joke in out house is 'don't stand still for too long or you WILL get painted'.

  19. Hi, Heidi - no I haven't have a space in a shop before - I'm excited, but a bit stressed too, in case it doesn't work out. It's a lot of work and the space I've got is towards the back of the shop - but, hey, ho, if I don't give it a go, I won't know!

  26. The wrapping paper is really nice & elegant! But I must say that I HEART the first china that you showed us...the one with multi-coloured roses!!! And the dresser is fine, too. I wish I had one of these (but I have no room for!.....heheheheehe).

  28. I do quite like that dresser ...I like the trend for painting them cream. My grandmother painted eveything cream in the 30s - beautiful pine furnature ! She was always ahead of her time...she cut the iron bed head off & made a divan and after my mother had a hysterectomy she made her a cut out one piece swimming costume !

I think your shop will be very pretty.

  35. GORGEOUS paper - would be fabulous to line anything with! Gorgeous side tables, distressed little shelf... my word you have been a busy bee! How exciting to maybe get a table in that gorgeous shop, but I really see the danger of the other shop opposite... :-)

Thank you again, dear, dear Abby for all your kind and encouraging words on my blog - your words mean a lot to me.

    Warm regards,
