Just a few sunny days...........

Just a few sunny days can make all the difference to one's mood, can't they? (Though sadly it's grey and misty here again at the moment)  The sunshine of the last few days encouraged a lot of flowers in the garden to open up -

There are lots of little Narcissi in the borders and in pots - most of them are from youngest daughter's wedding (table decorations) , a few years ago - see HERE and HERE

I like Buddhas, as you can see....

Lovely sunshine!

Crocuses are always so cheerful, aren't they?

Found a lovely vintage flowery apron in a charity / thrift shop the other day -

Hope you're having a good week!

Back from Cornwall!

Back from our few days away at Watergate Bay Hotel in Cornwall - magic!   Can't recommend it highly enough.  Fantastic position, wonderful styling everywhere, excellent service from really friendly staff - and The Pool!!!  To die for -

Hot tub on the deck outside the pool -

The hotel from the beach -

I just loved the style of the place, though I guess it won't be to everyone's taste -

This area, in our room, wasn't too much to my taste - though I was amused to see the Toile de Jouey touch in the wallpaper -

We had delicious meals - in the hotel, at The Beach Hut and at Jamie's Fifteen (a 5 course tasting menu!) as part of the Taste of The Bay deal.  And we ventured out a bit. Went to Newquay -

and Padstow -

A great break!  And if it's good enough for Caitlin Moran, it's good enough for me! -

Arrived home to find lots of bulbs open in the garden (and lots of Celandine to be dug out :( )

Hope you're having a good weekend!

Hello, March - glad to see you!

Hurrah - it's March. Farewell to February - shortest month, but seemed to go on forever!

Found a couple of nice items this week - a lovely old suitcase -

and some more beautiful cloths -

And I love this funky side table -

Lovely and sunny yesterday and so pottered in the garden. Brought a few hellebores in -

The little tete a tete daffodils are still doing well on the kitchen windowsill -

And I pinched these few blossomy twigs from an overgrown edge of the local park, walking home this week -

We had our two grand-daughters, Tilly and Ruby today - a lovely - if exhausting - day!  Well, Tilly found it exhausting! -

Didn't take a pic of Ruby today, but this is her - drumming away! - at their allotment last weekend -

Ah, that glass of wine and bowl of olives seems to be calling to me......

Have a great weekend!  (We're off to see Babette's Feast tomorrow morning and Beasts of The Southern Wild tomorrow night!  (see previous post) )

'And if one green bottle.....'

Found a box of bottles today - just been sorting them / washing them, etc. I particularly like the blue ones -

Lucky to find lots of cloths too - such pretty embroidery -

Very cold here today, after yesterday's Spring-like weather. But some brave souls showing in the garden -

These Tete a tete daffodils are peeping through - they were planted after we'd used them as table decorations at youngest daughter's wedding a couple of years ago -

The wedding was yellow / green themed -

Hope you're having a good week!
