The trouble with Spring is......

Misleading post heading really - there's nothing wrong with Spring - it's MOST welcome. My slight niggle, as someone who hates cleaning, is that all that glorious light and brightness reveals quite a bit of dust and worse!  As I found today when I wasted time had a sort out of our downstairs rooms.

Today was very cold here, but beautifully bright, so I decided to swap the red cushions and rug in our open plan sitting room for the Spring-like green ones put away last year -

And find some more Springlike things -

We've lived here for about 3 years now and still haven't put anything on this large blank wall in the kitchen -

I painted the mirror - that's propped on the radiator - today, and thought that might go on the wall........but it doesn't look right.........probably needs shelves really........?

Mother's Day flowers still going strong -

Found some nice stuff this week, like this barbola mirror -

and these pretty cups and saucers -

A couple of jelly moulds, too and a heavy glass dish -

And a chunky old tea cosy, and a pretty teapot, and a tin -

And a new book to read :)

Hope you're having a good week!

    1. Hi, thanks. I got the hare (it's raku fired and has lovely 'cracked' glazing) from The Lion Gallery in Leominster. It hasn't got a name on it, so I don't know if they're available elsewhere, sorry. x

    1. Thanks, Sophie. BUT - check out the 5th photo - the shelf is thick with dust! I took the photo, then cleaned it - dozy! x

  4. I was just thinking today how glorious it was to see the sun, and how not so glorious it was to see my filthy windows! Your home looks beautiful - full of lovely things. Shelves on that wall would be a great excuse for more lovely things!
Great finds too - the mirror is very pretty, and really like the way you've taken the picture x

  6. The dust, Oh the dust! I hate cleaning too - found the only way to get through it is to have music on loud and take it in small steps. With cake in between!

  7. Your sitting room looks very tidy and tranquil! I've been battling the dust this week too - I blame the high winds which have been rattling our sashes and, I'm sure, bringing in dust from outside! Then the sun generously shone to show it up - I'm SURE it hasn't been there for weeks...Lovely finds!

  10. Spring rugs? Spring cushions? How sophisticated.

I shall have to hide and pretend to be out if you ever knock on my door.
