Quelle bonne idee!

Quelle bonne idee!  Ok, that's enough French!  My French is of the 'quite good by the end of a 3 week camping holiday in France' variety - and we haven't been to France for a couple of years.....  When we are in France, I like to buy "Marie Claire idees" mag - always has lovely, fresh projects and pictures.  I recently found that you can order this and many other mags from Newstand - so I got the current issue -

- and it arrived very quickly, and didn't disappoint. Pages of lovely design ideas -

Cute ideas for mini gardens - (some may wince at the sacreligious use of a book!) -

Some stylish flower pages -

How to crochet with fine wire -

And - astonishingly for a French mag - some vegetarian recipes! - might try this one -

And a feature on Madagascar, which I enjoyed, as we went there in 2007.

The mag pics - and mine -

Fantastic place!
And Tilly has been exploring her arty side (though some of those hand prints look quite large ;) )

Hope you're having a good week!

  1. Madagascar looks very colourful as does your mag and Tilly's artwork.
    Love from Mum

  2. What a lovely magazine! It's been a while since we went to France but like you I always used to come back with a few magazines to drool over even if I couldn't always understand what I was reading I could get the jist of it from the photos:)

  3. It is such a gorgeous magazine, isn't it?! Love all your pictures today, such an interesting post! How cute Tilly is with her big bright artwork :)
    Happy weekend.
    Helen xx

  4. Haha! Someone obviously found it too hard to resist joining in the fun! The magazine looks lovely - the mini-jardins are so sweet. Itoo always buy a magazine or two when in France!

  5. We'll have to start a petition to get a an English version, a beautiful magazine.

  6. I've always wanted a copy of that magazine! The pictures are so inspiring. Madagascar looks like a great place to visit with all the exotic wildlife. I think someone other than Tilly has been enjoying the paints! x

    1. Madagascar was amazing. I read an article about it, and just really wanted to go. We got flights and booked the first night in a basic hotel, then took it from there - worked out really well. We took a short flight to an island too Ile St Marie, which was stunning. X

  7. Oh I have a feeling Madagascar is nothing like I imagined.....might investigate that further. Lovely magazine, the vegetarian comment did make me laugh, is that carrot tart? my youngest (vegetarian) son would love that. Bethx

    2. Great hats! Hope your cat is ok. Thanks for your comment on mine. Re the veggie tart in the French mag – it seems to be new carrots sautéed in oil, then add the juice of an orange, a handful of parsley and seasoning / simmer for 15 mins. Put onto a pastry-lined flan tin and add 1 egg and 10 cl creme fraiche. Cook 40 mins.180. Abby x

  8. Oooh, those pictures and ideas from the magazine look so inspiring - I'd love to get my hands on a copy of that - tons of creative mileage in there! xCathy
