Apologies, especially to new followers - but I'm going to take a blog break. Life's just a bit full on at the moment - something's got to go.....
Look after yourselves / have fun / see you later

Displacement activity blogging.........
Been doing lots of painting the last few days - chairs, tables, shelves - don't sit still, or I'll paint you! Just finished these two - undercoated, painted, distressed, waxed - I'm exhausted now! -
Might do this one next - maybe French grey -
or I might just have a sit down and a cup of tea! -With a biscuit from this vintage biscuit barrel? No - en route for the shop, really -
Along with this pretty cloth and glass domed dish -
And those lettuces look as if they need watering -
And lots of flowers to photograph -
Oh, well, better get back to the painting -

Right, enough dilly-dallying!...............

The Minotaur and the Hare
Went to Cheltenham today. I've always wondered about this statue there - The Minotaur and the Hare -
And flowers in the garden -
It's by Sophie Ryder. I googled for info -

Saw this little table the other day at a charity shop - snapped it up, as it was cheap, thinking I'd probably paint it.
BUT, got it home and discovered it was a sewing box -
Got a lovely blue glass dish too - it's a much brighter blue than it looks here -
Then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw this beauty (be still, my beating heart!) -
I strolled over towards it - casually, nonchalently - 'What me, interested in that? - pah!' - inside, thinking, 'I want it, I want it'!!! -
And, as you can see, I got it! - yay! - it's huge / very heavy -

Flowers from the garden -
And flowers in the garden -
Can't wait for these perennial sweet peas to flower - they've grown from a tiny plant -
And lovely Astrantia - so handy in bunches of cut flowers -
Have a great weekend!

'Look at me - I can sit up'..........
'Look at me - I can sit up'..........said Ruby -
'Ignoring me, hey? I'll eat part of your robot, then you'll take notice' -
'Hey, brothers and cousins, check this out - I'm sitting up' -
'No, seriously, guys, look at this' -
'Ignoring me, hey? I'll eat part of your robot, then you'll take notice' -

Green, green glass of home..........
Over the border to Wales today, to Abergavenny. I love going there, a great journey for me. Then when you're in the town, you can see the surrounding mountains down every street -
And some pretty china -
This couple are from Aberystwyth - or had their photo taken there, anyway -
This one's like raspberry ripple ice-cream! - or Eton mess -
Got some lovely green glassware (hence the terrible pun in the post heading...) -
More green glassware! -
It's just crying out for Lemon sorbet!
A pretty sugar sifter -
And some lovely old photos. Check out these guys! -
The next two - lovely ladies - are from Utica, NY -
And a little girl and boy -
*********************
Some rain earlier in the week, which was good for the garden. More roses coming out -
This blue flax is a startling colour - though not photographed well -
And this poppy -
Enjoy the rest of the week!
