I expect florists think they're a bit 'naff ', but I love Stargazer lilies - bought some this week -
Bought some new cushions too - lovely velvet material - the lilies and the cushions look happy together -
Love to have hyacinths in the house in gloomy January -
And a friend brought this pretty cyclamen last week -
And a daughter bought me some deliciously fragrant Paperwhites -
The next flower's a bit of a cheat! It's tucked away on my little shelves -
It's a paper flower I bought a while ago -
Hmmm?! Not exactly romantic! I wonder if it was deliberate?

And here's the tiniest posy in the world, possibly! With matching plate -

And - for bonus points (as requested by Jane) an old picture of me - potty-training our youngest daughter on the banks of The Seine in Paris on a camping trip (that's our VW) many years ago. We were en route to the former Yugoslavia.
Happy Days!!
OMG triple bonus points! The flowers are all so deliciously fragrant and so prettily arranged.
ReplyDeleteThe new cushions are very desirable...as in I want them.
And your picture is perfect!
What a way to start my morning. thank you.
xo Jane
Ooh, thank you! I'm always in awe of your flowers. x
DeleteI do love those great big stargazer lilies too - they seem to preen themselves in the vase.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter would be livid if I posted a photo of her potty training but she is a very self-conscious 15 right now. Oh, who'd be that age again??
Tonia x
Don't think daughter would mind - I found the photo recently and sent her a copy - she put it on Facebook! No, not 15 again, thanks! X
DeleteYour home must look and smell wonderful with so many lovely flowers.
ReplyDeleteI do like the little posy that matches the china so well.
Yes, I always have lots of flowers / plants about - the hyacinth is just lovely at the moment.
DeleteThe lillies and cushions do look good together and I can smell the hyacinths and paperwhites from here - lovely:)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you have happy days now with such beautiful flowers in the house.
ReplyDeleteLove from Mum
xx
What lovely flowers you have shared with us! Am sure your senses are on overload with mix of fragrance and beauty. All are pretty, but the tiny bouquet is a favorite. Smiles...Susan
ReplyDeleteJust lovely. The cushion and the lilies complement each other so well.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are charming, I covet the cushions and that picture in Paris is priceless.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what 'naff means but I'm going to start saying it.
It's slang word meaning tasteless, oudated...... x
DeleteThe best banks of The Seine photo I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteThe text on your paper flower has me chuckling. It must have been intentional, right? Very sneaky.
If your daughter sees that photo, she may take out a contract on you! The stargazers are glorious - and smell so good!
ReplyDeleteNo, she won't mind - she's just put it on Facebook! She's just potty-training her own little one!
DeleteI love that last pic, delightful!
ReplyDeleteI love your lilies with your couch cushions! Perfect! And I smiled when I saw the print on your paper flowers. Whenever I use book pages for crafting I am careful about the words that show. I always thought maybe I was being too particular until seeing your flowers, and now I feel justified. ;o)
ReplyDeleteRats - I forgot about the old photo for my post! Yours is really cute.
I love stargazer lillies, the fragrance is sublime and they are just perfect with your new cushions! The little posy is just gorgeous. I love the picture, now I'm wondering how refined one turns out when potty trained in Paris!
ReplyDeleteSo much to like here Abby! What a fab old VW - such a great picture, and love all you flower arrangements, especially the little plate matching posy. Also very keen on your new cushions, seeing as I'm totally cushion crazy - so many on our sofas there's not much room for folk! x
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tracey - I bought the cushions in Hay last week - they weren't cheap, but I loved them! X
DeleteHi Abby, Your paper flower made me laugh out loud. How very odd, but neat in a strange way! I love the photo of you and your daughter. I am surprised she let you post that photo. Precious! And the china and posy match ... that is beautiful! I am glad I visited your post. Christa
ReplyDeleteOk, I'm coveting the rabbit on the wall and must say that those stargazer lilies which I generally don't love look amazing with their container and those pillows!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, can't pick what I like the best, all are so beautiful! I am always a sucker for tiny little vases of flowers, just so cute.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous flowers! They all look lovely and I can imagine the gorgeous perfume from them. Your tiny posy is so sweet too. The text on your paper flower made me LOL....It's always wise to check the text when you make something pretty or romantic to make sure it is suitable...but as you say, maybe they did??
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful picture of you and your daughter....such happy days!
Thank you for asking about the bunny on the chair in my blog post...the pattern is in my book Pretty Patchwork Gifts (on amazon)...would have emailed this but couldn't find your email address.
Have a good week, Abby.
Helen xx
Many thanks, Helen - off to Amazon now! X
DeleteA house full of flowers - just what January needs. I love lilies, but do get the scissors out and remove the pollen before it gets anywhere near your new cushions!
ReplyDeleteGood idea - although I do like them with the stamens, if that's what they are. You can sometimes get the pollen off with Sellotape... X
DeleteHa estado un regalo el visitar tu bloc, te invito visitar el mio y si te gusta espero que te hagas seguidora.
